Mesquite, NV – It is fitting that on August 8, International Cat Day, the Women’s History and Culture Center (WHCC) celebrated Saxon the Suffrage Cat by accepting art contest applications for a decorated Saxon cut-out. History buffs will recognize Saxon the Suffrage Cat as the cat adopted by Nell Richardson and Alice Burke in 1916 as they drove cross-country to promote the Women’s Right to Vote movement.
